As we drove to the hospital my stomach started to hurt more and I was afraid I was losing the baby. "Just hold on Antonia we're almost there"My uncle declared running every red light in town. My grandmother held my hand. "Just hold sweetie"my grandma whispered. "I swear Antonia if I get a ticket I'm making your father pay it"My uncle remarked which made me feel a little better. In his car Criss was following us like white on rice. He kept asking his father to watch over me and our unborn child again and again. We all got to the hospital and Criss parked his car and ran over as my grandmother helped me out. Criss came over and just picked me up. "It's going to be all right Antonia I'm here" he whispered. I put my arms around Criss's neck and just put my head against his chest listening to his heart pound in fear for me and our baby. As the doctor looked me over my uncle and grandmother sat in the waiting room with Criss.
"I betch you her father is to blame for this probably stressing her out to the point this happened" my uncle stated pacing. "Johnny it could be any reason this happened" my grandmother remarked. "I was ready to hit him when he saw the puddle of blood and said my prayes have been answered god he makes me so angry" as my uncle sat down. "But I'm glad you finally came Christopher" my grandmother stated sitting next to Criss. Criss smiled at my grandmother. "But I have to know why it took you this long to reply to Antonia's letters" my uncle asked sitting down. "Blame it on my brothers they weren't happy with Antonia and they hid the letters she sent from me. I just found them a couple of hours ago in my brother's desk when I went to get a pen for my cousin. I read that last letter and read that she was pregnant I nearly fell to the floor in shock"Criss replied. "Your brothers sound like her father" my grandmother stated as my uncle chuckled. "After I read that letter I knew I had to see her that's why I came here to talk to Antonia and explain what happened" Criss replied. "I just hope that she's going to be all right and that baby" my grandmother said. "I remember a poem my sister in law once read when her daughter was born" Criss remembered. "Why don't you say it Criss might help Antonia".
on angel feet
Straight from Heaven's
What a miracle
"That's beautiful" my grandmother replied wiping a tear away. "Yea I just hope the man upstairs heard it"my uncle said. Time went by and still no word from the doctor which everyone thinking the worest. Then Criss started to say something in Greek. "Christopher are you saying?"my grandmother asked courious. "It's a pray my grandmother taught me in Greek. I said it a lot when my dad was diagnosed with cancer"Criss replied getting up. "I think since we've been praying wouldn't mind hearing one in Greek"My uncle stated. Everyone bowed their heads as Criss said the pray:
May angels rest beside your door,
May you hear their voices sing.
May you feel their loving care for you,
May you hear their peace bells ring.
May angels always care for you,
And not let you trip and fall,
May they bear you up on angel's wings,
May they keep you standing tall.
May they whisper wisdom in your ear,
May they touch you when you need,
May they remove from you each trace of fear,
May they keep you from feeling greed.
May they fill you with their presence,
May they show you love untold,
May they always stand beside you
And make you ever bold.
May they teach you what you need to know
About life here and here-after.
May they fill you always with their love
And give you the gift of laughter
"That was beautiful Christopher I'll have to ask your mother what it means in English" my grandmother remarked wiping some tears away. A nurse came over to where they were all sitting. Everyone stood up like soliders. "Are you with Antonia?"the nurse asked. "Yes how is she?"Criss asked. "She and her child will be all right we're going to keep her overnight and than she can go home". "Can I see her?" Criss asked. "He's the father"my uncle stated. The nurse took Criss to me as my uncle and grandmother hugged as tears rolled their face.
