I gave this to Criss when I first met him and asked him a couple days later if he had had a chance to read it. We were in the middle of a Mindfreak shoot. This was when he lived in the pyramid. He said it was beautiful.


Angels in Sin City


An angel arrived back in heaven and said, “ Look where I have been.”
The others looked down and saw the lights in the city known as sin.
There was a pyramid there, black as night, being kissed by the desert wind,
When the angels looked down upon the lights in the city known as sin.

One of the Devine asked the one, “Why were you in that place?”
The one did answer, “Because, I had heard of one who had fallen from grace.
An angel so pure and blessed by the devine, he was loved by all who knew him.”
Then, the angels looked down beyond the lights in the city known as sin.

They gazed upon their subject and one by one they commented.
“He doesn’t look heavenly or much like an angel.” One of the devine lamented.
The one then said, “I did not find an angel in that place, only one who had taken the name,
Who had not fallen from grace. He was only a man pure of heart with a strong mind and
spirit making his way underneath the lights in the city known as sin.”

“I saw this man was tired from work that seemed never ending.
I wanted to help him out and offer him a new beginning.
So, I wrapped my wings around him, and he fell into a restorative sleep.
Drifting far away from the lights in the city known as sin.”

“He dreamed of the smiles of children and pride on his father’s face.
He felt nothing but warmth and love in this transcendent and magical place.
Then, I left him alone and he awoke in a peaceful and joyous state.
Surrounded by a new light in the city known as sin.”
