"Is this your number?"
I groaned in frustration. I had been practicing this same trick for over 2 hours and I still couldn't get it right.
"Magicians weren't made in a day you know."
"I just....I want to be perfect you know?"
"No one's perfect."
"Can I call my Andreana?"
I sulked my way to my bedroom, shut the door and dialed my best friends number.
"Adrii. I miss you." Trying to exaggerate the sadness in my voice.
"Aren't you having fun?"
"Well of course, but I mean I can't do anything right, i'm a horrible magician."
"No your not, you just need practice. Criss had been practicing since he was a child."
"I know, I know. But you know how I am."
"Yes I do, but I also know how determined you are, and I know you aren't going to give up that easy."
"It's just so frustrating."
"Hang in their girly, hey Mike is here, i'll call you later okay?"
I shut my phone and stared up at the ceiling. Why can't I have a wonderful boyfriend who would make me think everything's perfect. I closed my eyes and let my mind drift off.
I has just gotten off work and figured I would check on how Kryii was doing with J.D. I had told him a few basic tricks to start her out on and wondered how far they progressed.
When I came in I saw J.D. but no Kyrii.
"Where is she?"
"Her room." He sighed.
"Criss, I don't think she's cut out for this, it's like she's so close but she gives up so easy."
"Trust me brother, for once?"
"I always have."
I patted him on the back and knocked on her bedroom door. I heard a faint noise and figured it meant I could come in. She was laying on her bed off in a day dream so I sat on the edge of the bed pulling her back to reality.
"No, your not."
"Your not okay, your exhausted, you feel less then perfect, and your wondering why you even signed up for this."
"I know because I wondered the same things when I was little, heck I still do. But the fact is your here for a reason and i'm going to help you with that reason. You just need to have a little patience. Can you do that?"
She nodded her head slowly and I glared at her.
"Good then lets go out for some dinner, get your mind off of things."
She looked at how she was dressed with a messy bun on the top of her head, an oversized sweatshirt and skinny jeans.
I smiled and nodded.
"Just like that."
I grabbed her hand and helped her off the bed and out into the living room where J.D. was. and nodded at her, knowing what she was going to do.
"I'm sorry J.D. I just, want to be the best for you all and I don't want to let anyone down."
"It's okay, but where are you going now?"
J.D. flashed me a warning look and I rolled my eyes. It was nothing like that. She was way to young.
