TWENTY-ONE YEARS AGO IN TEXAS

"I'M SORRY MRS KADISH BUT YOUR HUSBAND WAS BADLY HURT IN THE CAR ACCIDENT. I'M SORRY TO SAY THAT HE'S BRAIN DEAD". JOANNE SAT DOWN AND STARTED TO CRY. HER HUSBAND WHO SHE JUST TOLD TWO WEEKS AGO THAT HE WAS GOING TO BE A FATHER HAD GOTTEN T-BONED THAN HIS CAR FLIPPED WAS BRAIN DEAD. "MRS. KADISH I SAW ON YOUR HUSBAND'S LISCENCE THAT HE'S AN ORGAN DONOR". "YES HIS BROTHER WALTER HAD A KIDNEY TRANSPLANT BY A DONOR SO PHILP WANTED TO DO THE SAME THING A STRANGER DID FOR HIS BROTHER". "WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU WOULD DONATE YOUR HUSBAND'S ORGANS?'THE DOCTOR ASKED. "YES I WOULD MY HUSBAND WOULD LOVE IT THAT HIS DEATH IS HELPING OTHER PEOPLE" AS SHE WIPED HER TEARS AWAY. "I'LL SEND OVER OUR TRANSPLANT COORDINATOR TO HELP YOU WITH THE PAPER WORK" THE DOCTOR STATED


PRESENT DAY

In Las Vegas Criss was working on an illusion while JD watched biting his nails like a type writer. "JD if you eat your nail any farther down you're going to be eatting your fingers"Criss said. "I can't help it with all the stunts you do considering what you've been through in your life"he replied. "I swear JD you're starting to sound like mom"Criss stated. Then Criss's watch started to beep. "Time out". Criss went over to his jacket and took out a pill box. "Hey Criss what's with all the vitamins?"Luke asked. "There's not vitamins Luke"Criss said taking a drink of water. "They're antirejection pill Criss is been on them since he was twenty-four"JD added. "Wait minute you had a transplant which organ?". "Heart"Criss remarked putting the pill box away.

You had a heart transplant when you were twenty-four". "Yea if I didn't get one I wouldn't be standing here"Criss stated. "But why did you need one Criss?"Samanatha his assistant inquired. "Because I was diagonsed with a heart defect. By the time they found it my heart was too badly damage and they told my parents that if I didn't get a heart transplant I'd be dead with in six months"Criss replied. "So the doctor thought untill you were working with dad and had a heart attack. I remember dad yelling for me to call 911 as he did CPR on you"JD stated. "After that I spent the rest of the time in the cardic care wing of Saint Mary Hospital in Peekskill New York"Criss replied. "Do you know who gave you that heart?" Banachek asked. "From what mom told me a lady donated her husband's organ after he was killed in a car accident"Criss said.

"Wow I can't believe you never told us about this?". "I don't like talking about it now let's get this illusion together"Criss replied and everyone went back to work. In Vermont a twenty-one year old was working on project as her mother walked in. "Brooke can you help me with dinner?"she said. "Let me just finish this last sentence". On the table were bunches of papers with names, addresses and a lot of other stuff. "Are you almost done with this project for school". To celebrate an organ doner drive at her college Brooke decided to write a paper on how her father's donation of his organ has helped the people who were picked to receive his organs. "I found everyone expect the man who got dad's heart"she replied.

"Why?'. "The hospital that did the transplant closed down and all their records were destroyed or turned into recycled paper. The only thing I found out he use to live in Greenmeadows New York". "So he moved maybe he still has family there maybe a mother and father who could probably help find him"she stated. "One problem I have no last name just a first name Christopher. I'm so close and this is what ruins this project"as tears fell down her face. "Oh baby don't cry you'll do it you have your father's will"her mother said as she gave her a hug.

Back in Vegas Criss was getting ready to go over his demostration when a strange smell hit the room. "Oh my god who farted"Costa asked. "not me"everyone yelled. ":mad: who had Mexican for lunch"Criss replied trying not to throw up. "Let's go outside and air out the place?"JD suggested. Everyone went out side but as soon as they got outside a few people started to throw up including Criss. "You all right Criss?"JD asked as he walked over to Criss. When Criss look at his brother he started to see doubles of his brother and his voice was echoing. "Someone call 911 Gerard's having a seizure"someone yelled. When JD turned back to Criss Criss started to seize as well. "Costa tell them we got two people having seizures!!"JD stated.

When Criss opened his eyes he was in a white room on the floor. "What the-"Criss said as he got up. "I was wondering when you were going to wake up"a voice stated. Criss turned around and saw a guy sitting in a chair. "Who are you?". "let's just say I'm the reason you're still alive"the man replied walking over to him. "Where am I the last thing I remember is feeling weird and my head was pounding"Criss said. "Don't worry I just wanted to tell you my name because I('ve heard from other angels that you want to know about me" the man remarked. "Wait a minute your heart is the one I got"Criss stated as it hit him. "You've got it oh by the way my name is Philip Kadish so see yea". A bright light hit and Criss closed his eyes but when he woke he was in a hospital bed. "What the :mad:"Criss stated.

"Criss relax all right". He turned and saw Costa. "What happened?"Criss inquired a little confused. "It seems the warehouse next door was using toxic chemicals and some of it leaked into our side. It was a good thing we went outside some of us could ending up dead". "Is everyone all right?"he asked. "It seems you and Gerard got a big dose of the toxic chemical because both of you has seizures"Costa stated. "It was so weird"Criss replied. "What do you mean?". "The vision I had I met the guy who's heart I have he told me that his name is Philip Kadish"Criss replied. "Why don't you relax Criss sometimes seizures can cause hallucation because of the lack of oxgyen to the brain"Costa said. Criss laid back down as Costa left the room.

Good story, but you really need to space your sentences and paragraphs more. It's so hard to follow the plot line when everything's all crammed together.

When Criss was released he went home to find his mother sitting there waiting. "Mom what are you doing here?" giving her a hug. "Costa told me what happened so I hopped on a plane to make sure you're all right"she replied. "I'm fine no organ or brain damage mom". "I still want a second opinion on the brain damage"JD said as Criss rolled his eyes. "When Costa told me you had a seizure I thought that the chemicals would of damaged your heart so bad that you were going to need another transplant"she said. "Speaking of that I need to ask you something about that"he said as they all sat outside. "What do you want to know Christopher?". "I want to know about the person who donated his organs so I could live"Criss stated. "Your father and I never knew much about this person. Your father wanted to thank them but they wouldn't tell us much expect that his name was Philip Kadish" his mother remarked.

"Why do you want to know Criss?"Costa asked curious. "I've been thinking about where I've been since I had the transplant I just wanted to thank them for deciding to donate Philip's organ so other people could live including me"Criss replied. Costa got up and went over to the computer. "I knew that last name sounded fimilar" as everyone walked over."What's up Costa?". Costa brought up an article from Vermont. "I was reading this last night".

"University of Vermont holding a drive for donating organs. The drive is thought up by twenty-one year Brooke Kadish, a sophmore at the college. I came up with this drive as a way to honor my father who decided to donate his organs to other people so they could live a better live. Philip Kadish died in a motor vechile accident in 1991. To drive home the importance of organ donatation Brooke has found almost all the people who through her father's donation has lived longer than they thought they would. I have to find one more person but it's a little difficult because the hospital where he had the transplant has since closed down Brooke explained.

"Do you think Criss could be that person she's looking for?"JD said. Criss just stared at the picture of Philip Kadish and rubbed the scar of the heart transplant. Criss started upstairs. "Where are you going Christopher?" Dimitra asked. "Vermont" he replied and went to pack.

In Vermont Brooke was looking at some of the information she had. "So have you found anything about the guy who got your father's heart?"her teacher Mrs. Hillman inquired sitting across from her. "Only that he had a heart aliment that would of been fatal if he didn't get the transplant. This is driving me nuts why is it so hard to find this guy when it was so easy to find the others"she muttered. "What this person's name?'. "Christopher I don't know his last name. He lived in Greenmeadows New York". A thought hit Mrs. Hillman which Brooke could tell. "Something on your mind Mrs. Hillman?"she asked. "My mother lives in New York she was telling me about a guy who grew up there. He lives in Las Vegas and he's a world famous magician. Has his own show on the Vegas strip"she wondered.

"But there's no way of knowing if this is the guy I'm looking for. He could be in jail, or dead for all I know"Brooke stated "Stranger things has happened the person who got your father's liver became a presidental candidate"she said. "I'm going to call a retired nurse I met maybe she worked at the hospital that Chris had his transplant at" and Brooke walked off. While Criss and his family flew to Vermont Criss was looking out the window thinking about what he had been through coming so close to death, wondering if he'd see his next brithday while waiting for that calling saying that they found a heart for Chris."Christopher you allright?"his mother asked . "Yea just thinking". "About what?" she wondered.

"What would of happened if I didn't get this transplant. When I was in that cardic care unit just sitting there wondering if I was going to diie". "You came close Christopher your heart had been damaged due to an illness you had as a child. By the time the doctors realized what happened it was too late to reverse the damage it caused". "I remember feeling tired just walking down the stairs, having trouble catching my breath"Criss remembered. "Sometime when you slept your father would check in on your every hour just to make sure you were alive". "I still remember seeing that fear in dad's eyes when he was helping me with something outside and I just got this pain in my chest it felt like someone had hit me in my chest than everything went dark. Even thou I was clinicly dead I could feel someone pushing on my chest telling me to wake up to not to leave"Criss said.

"Yea that was the scariest moment for me seeing you in that ER while they did CPR on you and using the paddles on you trying to get your heart to start again. They would get it back than a few minute later you would go into V-Fib. I honestly thought you were going to die that day". "Excuse me mom I need to use the bathroom before we land". Criss got up and went to the bathroom. Inside he locked the door and sat on the toilet as tears fell down his face. He needed to be by himself for a few minutes just to gether himself. After that he threw cold water on his face and came back out.

After they landed they went to the hotel to checkin. As they checked in Criss's watch started to beep. "Which way to the men's room?" Criss asked. "Down the hall first door on your left" she replied and Criss left. In the bathroom Criss took his medicine than splash some water in his face. Criss hoped that he wasn't doing this just for his health or to ease his mind. "Excuse me," a voice called out. Criss turned around and saw a woman standing there. "I think you went into the wrong bathroom this is the ladies' room". "The lady at the desk-". The woman started to chuckle a little. "I'm sorry sometime Renee gets confused about stuff. I'm Brooke"she replied holding out her hand. "Christopher nice to meet you" shaking her hand.

"Why don't we go outside before someone comes in and gets the wrong idea". Criss grabbed his pill box and put it back into his coat pocket. "On a strict reginament of medication or vitamins" she inquired. "Your could say that"Criss replied as they left the bathroom. As they came out JD and Costa were about to walk in. "Well now I see what took you so long"JD said. "Brooke meet my pain in the butt brothers JD and Costa" as she shook their hands. "I have to get bacvk to work" and Brooke left. "So do you wantto tell us what was-". "You guys are sick in the head now come on" and they left.

That night after everyone went to sleep Criss was restless so he decided to go for a swim in the hotel pool. As Criss swam Brooke walked in and watched him untill Criss saw her. "Enjoying the view?"he asked. Brooke blushed. "I'm sorry,"she replied as Criss got out the pool. "So what brings you to Vermont?". "I'm here to talk to a family"he replied not looking at her. "Why?". "Excuse me I need to go back to my room" and he left. When he got to his room Costa was about to knock on the door. "What do you want Cost?"Criss inquired. "Can I bunk with you JD is snoring to beat the band and I can't sleep with that"he asked. "Come on in" and they went in. "Where did you come from?" Costa asked shutting the door. "Swimming needed to clear my mind"he replied. "I don't think it worked"Costa replied as Criss went to get changed.

"I saw Brooke". "The girl who's father gave your his heart"Costa stated as Criss came out. "Yea and for some reason I couldn't tell her that I'm the person she's looking for"Criss replied. "Why?". "I don't know I've only felt this way once". "What's that?". "Afraid I felt this way when I was waiting for a transplant in the hospital"Criss remarked. "How about tomorrow you go down to that college and talk to Brooke tell her who you are and why you're here"Costa suggersted. "Do you mind coming with me". "No so let's get some sleep" . Criss got into the bed while Costa took the couch. "Night Cost". "Night Criss" and they went to sleep.

That morning Criss was having breakfast when his mother walked over. "Good morning Christopher"she remarked giving him a kiss. "Good morning mom" he replied. "And I thought I was the early bird what are you doing up so early?" she asked. "Couldn't sleep my mind has been bringing me back to the day we found out I needed a new heart"Criss replied. "I've never seen your father so scared. Even thou he died a year after the transplant he never stopped worrying about you" she remarked. "I met Brooke last night and I wanted to tell her that I was the person who got her father's heart but I just couldn't bring myself to do it"he replied. "Criss you were nervous so would I but we didn't travel from Lads Vegas to get maple syrup". Criss chuckled. "Thanks mom I needed that" as he kissed her.

JD and Costa came in and went straight for the coffee with out even a hello to Criss and their mother. "Coffee zombies mom. They're always like this untill they get coffee or caffiene into their systems"Criss stated. "I've never noticed it before". "Not a lot of people do mom I'm so use to it sometimes I don't realize it"Criss remarked. After JD and Costa had a sip of coffee and came out of their coffee zombiness they sat down. "So what are we doing today?". "Well we're going to the college and talk to Brooke"Criss said. "Maybe you can even take some classes while we're there". "Yea money management 101"Costa remarked. "No franchising heck he can teach that" as Criss rolled his eyes.

At the college her teacher Mrs. Hillman was getting out of the car when another parked right next to her. Criss and Costa got out as they shut their car doors. "Wow this is a cool college maybe Dimi should go here"Costa suggested. "I don't even know if she'd like it here"Criss replied. "Can I help you gentleman". Criss took a piece of paper out his pocket. "Where is building 289 science wing"Criss asked. "I'm heading over there come with me" and they followed her. "May I ask why you gentlemen are here for?". "We're looking for a student here Brooke Kadish"Costa replied. She brought Criss and Costa into a class room and had them sit down.

"Why do you want to talk to her?"she asked. "We know that Ms. Kadish is looking for a person who got her father's heart in a transplant operation"Costa remarked. "And one of you is the person who got it". My brother did"Costa said. "Criss Angel my instinct were right maybe I should go down to Altantic City and play Black jack," as the guys smiled. "You just missed her she's on her way to an art musuem in Rutland". I knew I should of said something to her last night Criss thought. "But her mother should be on campus if you would like to talk to her she's met almost everyone that her husband helped since Brooke started this poject"Mrs. Hillman said. "What does she teach?". "She takes classes on campus why don't you stay here and I'll go get her" and the teacher left.

Criss took off his jacket and got up. "You all right Criss?". "Can you get me some water Cost?"Criss asled. "Sure" and Costa left. Criss was nervous he didn't know what to say tothis lady maybe thank you for choosing to donate your husband's organs or something. As Criss waited he paced untill Costa came in with a bottle of water. "Thanks Costa"Criss said opening the bottle. "No problem" as Criss took a drink. Criss walked over to the teacher's desk and sat on it. "Costa I have no clue what to say to this woman". "I don't know what to tell you mom would probably know"Costa remarked. The door opened and Mrs. Hillman and a lady walked in. "Joanne this is Christopher and I didn't catch your name"she stated embrassed. "Costa"he replied. "Mrs. Hillman tells me that you got my husband's heart". Criss nodded feeling nervous. "Why don't we go outside for a while Costa"Mrs. Hillman suggested. "All right" and they left.

The two sat down. "So tell me Chris why did you need a heart transplant?". "When I was a child I caught a bad virual infection but what the doctor didn't know at the time that the virus damaged my heart and the damage just got worse over time untill one day I was outside helping my dad and I passed out. When I regain concussioness the doctor had informed all of us that my heart was servely damaged and without a transplant I was going to die. After a few weeks I got worse while I was with my dad alone I went into cardic arrest. I woke up two days later in the cardic ward of the hospital. My mom and dad were there and they told me that my heart was getting weaker and I needed a heart badly or I wasn't going to live to see my thrities" Criss remarked.

"So you got my husband's heart". "Yea"he replied trying not to cry. "So what did you do with your life after the transplant?". "One thing my dad say that I got a second chance at life so I followed my dream and because a magician. I got my own show in Las Vegas called Believe and I'm going to be married soon" Criss stated with a smile on his face. "That's nice Chris you should tell my daughter this when she comes back". "Honestly I've met your daughter she's a nice kid but for some reason I can't tell her who I am or what her father did for me"Criss stated. Joanne cupped Criss's hand. "Just tell her what you just told me. You got a second chance at living Christopher and you didn't take it for granite. You're the last peice of this puzzle that my daughter started so help her finish it"she replied as Criss smiled.

When Criss finished talking to Joanne he and Costa went to get some lunch. At a diner Criss was playing with his straw in his drink as Costa was ordering some lunch for them. Criss thought back to when he was in the hospital hooked up to a heart montioner and being put on oxgyen. "I'm scared mom I don't want to die"he remembered telling his mother when she came to see him. "Christopher don't worry a heart will come you just have to believe"she replied as a tear fell down his face. "Criss"A voice said bringing him back to reality. "Sorry just thinking" he stated as Costa at down with some sandwiches. "You've been doing that lately spacing out" Costa remarked. "Thinking of the past"Criss stated as he ran his finger against the scar on his chest. "You nervous about how Brooke will actted when you tell her you have her father's heart?". "Yea I guess what happened in the past is bringing back all those feelings I remember feeling when I was waiting for a new heart"Criss replied. "Criss you have to stop thinking of the past and how close you came to dieing. You got a second chance and you're not taking it for granted"Costa said.

"Yea". That afternoon when Brooke came back to the college Mrs. Hillman was waiting. "Mrs. Hillman what are you doing here?"she asked. "A surprise came for you today the man who has your dad's heart came looking for you". "Seriously oh my god did my mom meet him". "And his brother Costa Chris and her talked for a while" she stated. "I have to talk to my mom" and left. At her house Joanne was cleaning when Brooke came in. "Mom Mrs. Hillman told me you meet the man who got dad's heart" she replied. "Yes he's a wonderful man". Brooke got her tape recorder. "I have to document this now mom what did he tell you about why he needed a transplant for?". Her mother turned off the tape recorder. "Honey believe or not you've met this man and his family" she replied. Her eyes nearly popped out of her head when she realized it's the guy she met at the hotel. "I can't believe I didn't put it together when I saw the scar on his chest the night he was swimming at the hotel"she stated "From what Mrs. Hillman found out through his brother his name is Christopher Sarantakos"her mother stated. "Sarantakos why does that last night sound fimilar"she muttered. "I'll give you three clues Angel, Las Vegas and Believe". Brooke couldn't believe it as it hit. "Criss 'Mindfreak' Angel got dad's heart I don't believe it". "Brooke got to the hotel and interview him"her mother suggested. Brooke smiled as she put her recorder in her pocket, grabbed her note book and left.

At the hotel Criss and his family were getting ready to leave. "This was fun" Costa remarked. "Too bad I didn't get to talk to Brooke"Criss said. "Don't worry her mother will fill her in and I gave Mrs. Hillman my cell phone number just incase"Costa stated. "I just wish I could of told her how much her father's gift impacted my life and that I didn't take my second chance at life for granted"Criss replied as he sighed. A knock came to the door and Costa got it. At the door was JD. "What's up JD?" Costa asked. "Bad news the plane blew an engine we have to wait untill tomorrow to leave"he said. Dad's at it again,Criss thought with a snicker. "Thanks JD" "I'll go tell the people at the desk we need to stay one more night before they give our rooms away" and Costa left.

Criss sat on the bed and turned on the television when a knock came to the door. He got up and opened the door. At the door was Brooke. "Christopher Sarantokas I presume"she said. "Come on in Brooke let's talk" and she walked in. Brooke and Criss sat at a table in the corner of the room and started to talk. They were about done when the door opened and Dimitra, JD, and Costa walked in. "Sorry we were about to go grab some dinner"JD stated. "We're about done you must be Criss's brothers JD and Costa and his mother Dimitra"she said shaking their hand. "I see you finally got to interview the last person for your project" JD stated. "Yea thanks for the information Criss" and she left.

A couple of months went by and Criss was working when a knock came to the door. "Come in" and Sandra came in. "Hey baby what are you doing here?" he asked giving her a kiss. "I thought we could have lunch together" Sandra remarked. "Sure let me just finish this last sentence" Criss stated as Sandra looked at what he was doing. "Updating your will why?". "I just wanted to put something in my will just incase something happens to me" Criss replied. "If I should die I would like my organs to be donated and my brain to science wow" Sandra remarked. "Come on let's go to lunch" and they left. As they came out Dave walked over. "Christopher can I talk to you for a minute?" Dave inquired. "Sure I'll meet you at the resteraunt" and Sandra walked off. "Why didn't you tell me this".

"About what?"Criss asked. "That you had a heart transplant". "So what my crew never knew about untill a few months ago. It's something I hate thinking how close I came to dieing and how did you find out"Criss said. "An article by a Brooke Kadish she wrote about her father's organ donation and the people who got her father's organ. She wrote about how you got her father's heart"Dave replied. Criss's watch started to beep. "I have to go Dave we'll talk later" and Criss went to restraunt to meet Sandra. After he took his medication and had lunch with Sandra he went back to work.

The next day at work Criss was working on some stuff with Luke when Erich brought in some flowers. "Who sent you flowers Criss?".Luke asked. Criss looked at the card. "It's my Aunt Popi in Florida wishing me a wonderful Αναγέννηση "Criss remarked. "What does Αναγέννηση mean?". "It means rebirth. My father called the day that I got my transplant rebirth. To him after coming so close to death I was reborn again in his eyes so in my family the day of my transplant is called Rebirth". "When is it?". "Tomorrow"Criss stated. "We should throw a huge party Criss this is something that should be celebrated" Erich stated. "Guys it's no big deal beside when this day comes around I just have a family dinner that's it so let's get back to this".

While Criss had gone off to do some shotting Erich and Luke talked to Costa and JD about throwing a rebirth party. "It is a celebration why not". "We can have at Serenity and invite your mom down, few friends, the crew". "Why not Brooke and her mother. They're half the reason Criss is alive" Costa suggested. "That's a good idea Costa do you still have Mrs. Hillman's number maybe she can pass it on to Brooke and her mother"JD said. "I'll give her a call" and Costa left.

The next morning Criss got woken up by Hammie's tongue and tuna breath. "Hey buddy" he said giving him a pat on the head. Why do I need an alarm clock when I have you. After Hammie left Criss went to his blacony and saw what a picture perfect day it was. The sun was shining bright, not a cloud to be seen. It felt like this day was planned just for Criss. Criss came down and saw Sandra making breakfast for them. "Where's Ed?"he asked as he sat down. "I give him the day off I wanted to cook for you and happy rebirth Christopher"she remarked. She walked over and gave him a cup of coffee and a kiss. "How did you find out about today?"he inquired. "I was talking to JD last night while you were doing Believe and he told me about how today was the day you got your heart. How your father called the day your rebirth I almost started to cry" she replied. She came over with scrambled eggs, with toast and some fresh fruit.

"I don't understand why they're making a big deal about it"Criss stated as he took a bite of toast. "You have to see from them. If this day didn't come you'd be dead Christopher". "I guess so so what would you like to do today?". "You forgot Criss I asked you if I could have my friend's baby shower here and you said it was all right" she remarked. "Oh yea what time is it?". "Two but it will be over around six so you and I will have dinner together". "All right I think I'll go for a bike ride haven't done that in a while" he stated. After Criss finished breakfast he was getting dressed when he heard the door bell rang. "I got it"Sandra called out. Criss started down the stairs to a susrpise his mother. "mom what are you doing here"Criss said surprise to see her.

As Criss and his mom spent the day together Sandra set up the party for Criss. "Criss is going to be thrilled about this party Sandra"Costa stated. "I hope so did you get in touch with Brooke and her mother yet"she asked. "I left a message for them but I haven't heard back"Costa replied. "Why don't you give them a call and see if they're coming". Costa was about to call when his phone rang. He picked up and it was Mrs. Hillman. "Mrs Hillman how nice to hear from you. Serious what happened all right" and hung up. "What's wrong Costa?". "It's Brooke she's in the hsopital suffering from liver failure" Costa stated. "Oh my god that's horrible"JD remarked.

"It gets worse they don't think they can find a match in time she may die" Costa added. "What about her mother?". "I don't know let me give Mrs Hillman another call" and hung up. At the hotel Criss and Dimitra were having lunch. "Thanks for treating me to lunch Christopher"she remarked. "My pleasure" giving her a kiss. "Christopher" a voice called out. Criss turned and saw Joanne, Brooke's mom standing there. "Joanne what are you doing here?"Criss asked. "I'm sorry to interrupt". "No mom this is Joanne her daughter wrote that article"Criss said as they shook hands. "I need to talk to you about Brooke she's dieing".

Criss had Joanne sit down. "Why is Brooke dieing?"Dimitra inquired. "Brooke has an autoimmune disease that she's had since she was a toddler and now the disease has damaged her liver that it's failing. She needs a transplant or she's going to die"she replied trying not to cry. "I'm so sorry Joanne"Criss remarked. "One of the reasons I came here is to ask you to get yourself tested you maybe the only person who can match my daughter". "Why do you think that?"Dimitra asked. "Because Brooke has her father's blood type and I've asked the people who got my husband's organ if they'd get tested and so far nobody matches her so Criss you're my only hope to maybe saving my daughter" she replied. "Excuse me for a minute"Criss remarked and went to the bathroom.

Criss went in and splash some water on his face. After he dried his face he got a glimpse of his scar and starred at it. Memories of what his parents went through with him he was seeing in Joanne. When Criss came back he saw his mother talking to Joanne. Criss couldn't hear the conversation but Criss could tell she was trying to comfort her. Criss felt a bing of pain in his heart as he walked back. "So will you get checked to see if you match my daughter?"Joanne asked. Criss looked at his mother and she could see Criss was being hesitant. "Joanne why don't you go clean up you're starting to like a racoon"Dimitra suggested. "All right" and Joanne went to the ladies' room. "Now what's wrong Christopher?"Dimitra asked. "I just don't want to get her hopes up what if I don't match her daughter"Criss said.

"And what if you do Christopher. When you were put on the transplant list the doctor weren't even sure you would get a heart considering your blood type, but thankfully you did just get tested for now". "All right mom" and gave her a hug. That night after Criss got tested he went home with his mom. "Now you don't mind that me and Sandra go out to dinner tonight". "No Christopher I talked to JD and I'm having dinner with him tonight" she said with a smile. "I just hope I get a phone call from that doctor saying I match Brooke" looking at his band-aid that they took blood from. "Me too Christopher". Criss opened the door and went into the living room and to his surprise everyone from his crew to his family was there. "HAPPY REBIRTH!!"they called out. Criss couldn't believe it as everyone gave him hugs and kisses.. The night went on great it was a wondeful surprise for Criss but in the back of his mind he couldn't stop thinking of Brooke and if he was going to match her.

"You allright Criss". He turned around and saw JD. "Just thinking"he said as they sat down. "About if you're going to match Brooke"JD stated. Criss looked at him like he was reading minds. "Mom told me Criss don't worry everything will be all right". "I know but what if I don't match her than I'll be letting down her mother"Criss remarked. JD noticed Criss was breathing heavily and he started to sweat a little. "Criss calm down you're on the verge of a panic attack"JD stated. "I-I can't help thinking the worest. God I feel like there's an elephant on my chest"Criss said. "Sandra!!"JD called out. She came running out. "When she saw Criss she kneeled infront of him. "Sandra what's going on with Christopher" she asked. "He's having a panic attack" she replied running outside with the bag.

When she came out Criss was unconscious. "Should we call an amblunce" she asked. Criss opened his eyes and he was back in the white room again. "What the-". "Hello again Christopher". Criss turned around and saw Philip. "What's going on?'". "You passed out while having a panic attack. Criss don't worry about Brooke"he stated. "I can't help it since she did that article on ythe people who got your organs we've become good friends" Criss replied. "Criss even if you don't match my daughter what you went through has made someone else want to donate their organs," he said. Criss felt better as he took a breath. "Now I want you to enjoy life and don't worry about the future". Criss clowsed his eyes and when he oepened them he was in the ER. Criss looked around and saw he was on a heart montioner and his mom was outside in the hall talking to a nurse or a doctor he couldn't tell. Dimitra turned and saw Criss was awake.

"Christopher thank the lord you're all right"she remarked giving him a hug. "You gave your family quite a scare Mr. Sarantokas". "I've been doing that for years doc"Criss joked. "At least he still has his sense of humor". "When can I go home?"Criss said. "We're just waiting on a few blood test and if they come back normal than you can go home" and the lady left. "I thought I was going to lose you Christopher". "Don't worry mom I guess I got worried about Brooke so bad that I started to panic". "Oh Christopher I guess her mother put some heavy pressure on you". "Yea but i shouldn't of let it hit me that hard. I know that I may match her or I may not but I know that if I don't there's got to be someone to match her"Criss replied.

When Criss came home with his mom Sandra was waiting for him. "Oh Christopher you scared me"she remarked giving him a hug. "I'm all right I'm just sorry I had a panic attack during this cool party you had planned"Criss replied. "It's Ok Criss I'm just happy you're all right" as they sat down. "Do they know why you had a panic attack"Sandra asked. "Mrs. Kadish came to see us while we were having lunch and told us Brooke needs a liver transplant. She ask Christopher if he can donate she may it seem like Christopher was her only hope"Dimitra said. "That seems she put a lot of pressure on you" Sandra remarked. "It seems like that"Criss replied. "Why don't we go to bed we've had a hard day"Dimitra suggested. "Yea" and they all went to bed. Around two Sandra woke up to find Criss not in bed.

She got up and saw Criss just looking at the moon shining in the pool. "Christopher you all right?" she asked coming down the stairs. "I just can't sleep"Criss replied. "Criss are you still worrying if you're going to match Brooke". "Maybe-I guess-I don't know". "Criss don't worry if you don't match her". "I guess I've been thinking about my past and what might of happened if I was in Brooke's place and they couldn't find a heart for me"Criss replied. Sandra gave Criss a hug than ran her hand up and down Criss's scar. "Criss don't think that way if you don't match Brooke than someone will match her and she'll be all right"Sandra stated. "I guess you're right come on let's go to bed" and they went to bed.

At work Criss came in early but his mind kept bringing him back to his past. "Christopher"a voice said bringing Criss back to reality. He saw his mother standing there. "Mom what are you doing here?"he asked as Dimitra sat down. "Sandra told me she found you looking out the window last night are you still worrying about Brooke?". "I'm worried that she's going to die I got a call before I left for the Luxor I didn't match Brooke"he replied. "Oh I'm so sorry Christopher". "Mom were you scared about me maybe dieing if I didn't get this heart"he asked. "Of course Christopher everyone was scared especially me and your father. Your father was ready to give his heart to you if he could of"she replied. "I feel the same way I can remember being in that hospital room hearing that montioner beat, not being able to use the bathroom with out help because just walking to the bathroom would tire me out. Being put on medication to keep the fuild build up down".

"But you're alive Christopher thanks to Mr. Kadish gift of his heart to you"she remarked. "I know this sound strange but when I was in that hospital and dad was sick I would think that if god took me instead of dad he could of lbeaten the cancer" Criss said. "Christopher if you died that day you wouldn't be the person you are today". "I know that now mom"Criss stated. The phone rang and Criss picked it up. "Hello Joanne-yes are you serious-that's wonderful-yes I'll let them know-thank you for call" and hung up. "Did they find a mtch for Brooke?" Dimitra asked. "Yea they're going into surgery tonight, the donor will be there soon"Criss replied grabbing his coat. "Where are you going Christopher?". "To get the donor" Criss replied.

At Serenity Sandra was packing than she heard a door opened. "Sandra" Criss called out. "Upstairs Criss". Criss came in. "Criss what are you doing here?"she asked surprised to see him. "I heard that you're donating half your liver"he replied. "Yea when you told me about your heart transplant it just inspired me to donate my organs and today I finally got the call saying I matched someone. I was going to call and tell you about it"she remarked. Criss gave her a hug. "Thank you sweetie for doing this,"Criss said. "Now let's finish packing". At the hsopital Brooke was in her room relaxing when Criss walked in. "Christopher what are you doing here"she asked. "I just wanted to see how you were where's your mom". "Went to talk to the doctor they found a donor for me"she replied.

"That's good". "Criss are you my donor?". "Unfortunely no but I just brought in your donor"Criss replied. "Who was it one of your brothers or your mother?" she asked. "Neiither it's my bride to be". Her eyes popped. "Sandra decided to donate thanks to me". "I'm glad that you inspired Sandra to do this Criss"she remarked. "I'm just happy you're going to survive". Criss gave her a hug and she gave him a kiss.

When it came time for the transplant Criss waited with Brooke's mother in the surgery lounge. As they waited Criss went over to window and starred out sometimes not realizing it he was touching his scar on his chest. "Christopher"Joanne said. Criss turned to her. "Yea"he stated. "I was wonderng if you would like to see a picture of Philip". Criss smiled and went over to see next to her. She pulled out a picture of them and showed it to Christopher. "This was taking the night I told him about Brooke. We went down to our favorite bar once we walked in the first words out of his mouth were: WE'RE PREGNANT DRINKS ON ME". Criss chuckled wondering if his father would of done the same thing when he found out about him and his brothers' impending arrivals. "I was ready to do the same thing when I got engaged to Sandra"Criss replied.

"If you don't mind me asking how did you explainto her about your transplant?". "We were outside in my pool swimming and we had only been dating a few weeks she saw the scar and asked me if I had heart surgery as a child. I just told her I had a heart transplant when I was in my twenties. I told her why I had it and what I went through and my family. She told me today that because of what I told her she decided to become an organ donor"Criss replied. Joanne smiled as the doctor came out. Criss saw him and they both stood up. "Everything went well both Sandra and Brooke are in recovery". When Criss got back to Serenity his mother was up reading a book. "Mom I thought you'd be in bed by now"Criss replied.

"I wanted to see how everything went". Criss sat next to his mom. "Everything went great no hiccups or anything. Both Brooke and Sandra are in recovery so I'll see them both tomorrow"Criss stated. "That's wonderful Christopher". "Mom I have tell someone this because it's been driving me crazy thinking about it". "What that?". "Do you remember when my crew and I were exposed to those chemicals a few months back?". "Why yes tat scared me out of my skin when Costa called and told me you had a seizure"she remarked. "When I had that seizure I was in this white room I heard this guy's voice so I turned around. This guy told me I was the reason I was still on this earth and that his name is Philip. I just thought my brain made him up, but today Joanne showed me a picture of him and it was the same person I saw right down to the grizzty adams beard".

"I don't know what to tell you Christopher maybe it was something your father from upstairs so to speak came up with"Dimitra remarked. "Maybe well I'm going to bed I'll see you in the morning". He gave his mom a kiss and walked up the stairs

The next day Criss went to see Brooke and Sandra. In Brooke's room she was reading as Criss came in. "And I thought I was the only early bird"he said. Brooke put her book down and saw Criss standing there with some flowers. "Hey Criss"she remarked. Criss walked in and gave her the flowers. "I asked your mom what kind of flowers you like"Criss stated. "Thanks Criss they're great and I thought you'd see Sandra first". "I did but she's still asleep" Criss replied which made Brooke chuckle. "My mom told me you were one of the reasons Sandra did this". "I was sort of in shock when your mom told me who your donor is. She told me that day because of what I told her about my transplant she decided to donate her organs too"Criss replied. "That's cool" she said.

"I have to get going but I'll try to stop in before you go back to Verrmont" Criss stated. "See yea". "Before I leave there's something I should tell you in my family the day I got my transplant my father called that day Rebirth so happy Rebirth Brooke"Criss stated and left. At the Luxor Criss was doing some work when Felix walked in. "Hey Felix what can I do for you?". "I heard what Sandra did last night". "Yea and the transplant worked so far"Criss replied. "I think what happened to you is rubbing off on a few people here and in other places". "What do you mean?"Criss inquired. "Well my daughter called me from college and she told me that her school had a blood drive and also people help find matches for people that need organs. She said some of them decided to do when they found out about your transplant"Felix stated.

"That's awesome even my crew is helping too Luke matched a guy in Boston who's been waiting for a kidney for five years"Criss stated. "That's great Criss". "So you willing to donate an organ Felix?"Criss inquired. "I'll stick to blood Criss" and Felix left as Criss chuckled. During lunch Criss went back to see Sandra. Criss got a surprise to swee his mom there too. "Mom what a surprise"Criss stated giving him a kiss. "Your mother came to see how I am"she replied. "I saw Brooke this morning she's looking great"Criss said. "That's great Christopher" Dimitra remarked. After a while Criss had to go back to The Luxor as he was walking he saw a teenager playing checkers with another person. "King me" she called out. "I thought you were surpose to let the sick ones win". "I'm going to get a drink you want one David". "No thanks"he stated as he laid back down. As the girl came out Criss walked up to her. "Hi". "I know you you're Criss Angel"she replied. "Tell what's up with him". "He's waiting for a heart for a few years"she replied. "Do you mind if I talk to him"Criss asked. "Sure" and Crisds went in. "How's it going?". "Hey you're Criss Angel"he said with a smile on his face. "I heard from your friend that you're waiting for a heart transplant" sitting next to him.

"Yea for-three years-but I don't think-I'm going to get it". "I thought they same way"Criss remarked. "You've had a heart transplant" Criss took off his shirt and showed him the scar. "I had a transplant twenty years ago and I thank god every day that I'm alive and you shouldn't be scared". "Thanks Criss"he replied with a smile on his face. Criss put his shirt back on and started to leave. As he left Criss turned and swear he saw himself in the kid. Dad if you can hear me find a heart for this kid please Criss thought.
